The painting deals with people's dreams: what do people dream of as a child, what do you want to be, what and who do you want to be? Do you get there? Are you living your childhood and life dream? In her unique technique, the artist combines the portrait and the dreams in a painting whose superimposed layers and representations such as dream and reality flow into one another.
 
The painting is a work by contemporary artist Karin Döring from the HUMAN STRIPES series.
The series is very complex to create, the complete work of art is painted twice, the artist tapes the STRIPES between the two painting stages.
 
The idea and technique of the STRIPES arose during the work process and is a completely new art technique that Karin Döring developed and uses herself.
