In this, the first portrait of the new series FACES IN STRIPES, the artist works with the combination of colored and black-and-white portraits, which she paints on top of each other and combines with graphic elements (stripes). You can see exactly how the stripe technique she created is implemented in the working video.
This idea and its implementation came about because the artist loves to work with many bright colors, but also in black and white and reduced. The result is both: A black and white and a color portrait, as well as graphic features in the form of stripes in one picture: OPEN MINDED.
In the background of the portrait, Karin Döring uses silver leaf in addition to the acrylic paint.
