The artist's favorite animal is the elephant. Karin Döring depicts the majestic, intelligent and gentle animal with acrylic paints in dominant shades of green and blue. She works with a painting knife on canvas. In the eyes of the artist, elephants embody love, the will to survive, loss and coming home.
With a shoulder height of up to 3.30 meters and a weight of six tons, elephants are the largest living land mammals on earth today and their biggest enemy is humans. The artist donates 20% of the sales proceeds to the WWF to preserve the habitat and protect the animals.

I purchased one of Karin's first paintings a few years ago. It was a portrait that immediately spoke to me and captivated me. Since then, more of Karin's works have found a place in our home. I think it's great that she experiments, evolves her art, and thus stands out from other artists. With her special works from the HUMAN STRIPES series, she has definitely hit the mark.
